I banned myself from the telly,
Many moons ago.
I barely watched it anyway,
Aside from a couple of shows.
Simpsons at Six,
With a half hour to kill.
Watch the News ’til Eastenders,
Then switch for The Bill.
Two ‘n half hours,
Every weeknight.
Cartoons and cockneys,
Having a fight.
Drama here, murder there,
Marriage then break-ups galore.
Someone’s depressed, someone gets punched.
And we keep coming back for more.
I see people around me, all acting this way.
I wonder if there’s a connection.
I stopped watching the telly years ago,
And now I don’t have that reflection.

Thanks Phil, a post of yours from yonks ago about reality tv got me thinking back to the shite we used to watch (made me depressed as hell and I regularly wanted to wallop people!). These days not so much…
