Corned Beef Hash

 

A tin of corned beef, an onion or two.

Plenty of spuds and some carrots too.

Put all in a pot, but not yet the meat.

Cover with water and bring on the heat.

 

Season with salt and pepper too,

A bayleaf is nice, it enhances the brew.

Half an hour later, chop up the meat,

Add to the pot, reducing the heat.

 

Stir as it’s forming your effort’s reward,

A feast that will nourish, waif, widow and lord.

Fill up a bowl, grab a spoon and you’re set,

And any leftovers can go to the pet.
