When man first arrived here, we were overjoyed that the atmosphere was not dissimilar to Earth’s. Right levels of oxygen to provide unassisted breathing. The similarities in climate were astounding; cloying warmth the only genuine difference.

The daily temperature reaches roughly the same as a balmy summer’s day in Rio. However; we didn’t realise the floor, the hallowed ground we walked on, was heated. Initially, wearing polymerised plastics; having foot to floor for extended periods ended with boot soles a sticky morass.

Someone took the initiative and developed insulated soles; now we walk freely without any degradation of the soul.
