You were very lucky to be here today, it is an important day for us. Today, crowds will gather to watch the parade. First come the revellers; drunken and stumbling, their faces agog and stupefied. Next are the horned painted men and women; faces grotesque and terrifying to those that observe. Dressed in leaves and plumage they dance and scream, twirling fire. Finally, the sombre monks dressed in plain brown cloth robes arrive; their eyes covered by dense sackcloth hoods. Today is the Day of the Dead and this is how we venerate those that have become unseen to us.
